Why Saint Peter's University has become so popular with Indian students
Over the last two years, Saint Peter's University has seen a surge in interest from Indian students, and it is not hard to understand why. The university is located in New Jersey, very close to New York City, which makes it an incredibly attractive base. The programs that draw the most students are computer science, analytics, and management — three fields with strong career demand in the US. If you are applying for your F1 visa with one of these programs, you are walking in with a choice that many officers are already familiar with.
What the campus is actually like
When I visited the campus and spoke with students there, the overall feel was positive and relaxed. Students described the schedule and curriculum as flexible — not overwhelming. That matters a lot when you are adjusting to a new country.
The McMann Student Center
The hub of campus life is the McMann Student Center. The second floor hosts conference rooms, the building has a cafeteria, and on the fourth floor you will find a gym along with indoor games including table tennis and pool. Equipment for racket sports is provided by the university — you just show your student ID and borrow what you need. The swimming pool is located separately in the recreational center.

Together, these two offices handle all job-related activities for students. They work with you throughout the year to build your resume and connect you to internship opportunities — not just in your final semester, but consistently. If you are preparing for your visa interview and the officer asks how you plan to gain work experience in the US, this is exactly the kind of institutional support you can point to.
Classrooms and the library
Classes are spread across campus, with some held in the main academic buildings and others in buildings just opposite the library. The library itself spans three to four floors, with sections organised by subject — psychology, and various other disciplines each have their own dedicated space. There are individual study spaces available if you need quiet time to focus, and you can also attend classes online from within the library.
What students told me about studying here
Speaking directly with students on campus, the consistent theme was that they are happy with their decision to come to Saint Peter's. The flexibility of the curriculum came up repeatedly. If you are someone who is worried about adjusting to US academic culture, the general experience at Saint Peter's seems to be a manageable one.
