A note from Shachi

Your company is transferring you. The petition is approved. What could go wrong?
More than you think. Officers scrutinize L1 cases heavily, especially for smaller companies or when the relationship between the Indian and U.S. entities isn't obvious. If you can't clearly explain what you do, why you're the one being transferred, and how the two offices are connected, you'll end up in 221(g) processing.
I built my STAMP Method around the five things every officer evaluates: your Story, your Ties, your Answers, your Money, and your Papers. For L1 transfers, the key is explaining your specialized knowledge so clearly that the officer sees why you, specifically, need to be at the U.S. office.
If your transfer is important, your preparation should be too. Let's talk.

Sound familiar?
Transfer visas face more scrutiny than you expect
"My company is handling everything, why should I worry?"
Your company filed the petition. But at the window, you answer the questions. Not HR, not legal.
"I don't fully understand the petition details"
Officers expect you to know what's in your petition, your role, salary, office relationship, and transfer duration.
"The U.S. office is small, will the officer question it?"
Small or new U.S. offices get extra scrutiny. Officers want proof the office is real and can sustain your role.
"I can't explain my specialized knowledge simply"
"I manage cross-functional deliverables" means nothing to an officer. You need plain-English explanations.
"I'm renewing, is that different?"
Renewal stamping can trigger questions about what you've been doing, whether the role changed, and future plans.
Common pitfalls
Mistakes that get L1 applicants refused
Can't explain the company relationship
Parent, subsidiary, affiliate, if you don't know how the two offices are connected, the officer won't approve.
Vague description of your role
"I manage projects" isn't specialized knowledge. Officers need specifics about what you do that nobody else can.
Inconsistent petition and interview details
If your title, salary, or role description doesn't match the petition, it raises immediate red flags.
No evidence of the U.S. office's operations
Officers may ask about office size, revenue, and existing employees. Not knowing signals the office might not be real.
My approach
My STAMP Method - Five Pillars That Get You Approved
S - Story
What do you do and why are you being transferred? We build a clear narrative around your specialized knowledge, the company relationship, and why you specifically need to be at the U.S. office.
T - Ties
What brings you back? Even for intracompany transfers, officers check intent. We identify your ties, family, property, career path in India, that show you'll return.
A - Answers
Can you explain your role in 15 seconds? We structure every answer, your specialized knowledge, the company structure, and the transfer purpose, practiced in mock interviews until natural.
M - Money
Does the salary and company financials make sense? Officers check whether the U.S. office can actually support this position. We make sure your numbers add up.
P - Papers
Petition, offer letter, company documents, org charts, they must all tell the same story. We review every document for inconsistencies.

Questions you probably have
Ideally 4-6 weeks before your interview. That gives enough time for document review, answer building, and multiple mock interviews. If you're late, don't worry. Our Core package works as a 3-day crash course.
No one can guarantee approval. The final decision rests with the consular officer. What we guarantee: you walk into your interview fully prepared, with clear answers, strong documentation, and real confidence. We've coached 2,500+ applicants one-on-one, and we are always transparent that no one can promise a specific outcome.
You'll experience a realistic simulation of a U.S. visa interview. I play the role of the consular officer using real questions specific to your visa type and profile. After the mock, you receive the recording so you can review your performance and refine your answers before the real thing.
Almost certainly. Over the years, I've worked with applicants across every visa category and situation — prior refusals, complex employment histories, complicated finances, applications from high-scrutiny consulates, dependent visas, and more. If you're unsure whether your situation is something I can help with, just message us on WhatsApp. I'm happy to discuss before you commit to anything.
All sessions are online via Google Meet or Zoom, so you can prepare from anywhere in India or the world. We also record each mock interview for your own self-review, which you can't get in-person at the embassy.
We accept UPI, bank transfer, Razorpay (for INR payments), and Stripe (for USD payments). All prices are listed in both USD and INR. Payment is collected after an initial consultation to ensure the service is right for you.
