New York City can feel completely overwhelming the first time you land there — and that's because it genuinely is a lot. I've covered the neighbourhoods, the food, the transport, and the prices so you can plan your trip without the guesswork.

New York Is a Lot — and That's Exactly Why You Need a Plan

If you're visiting New York for the first time, the sheer scale of it can catch you off guard. There is so much to do, so much to see, and so many things to eat that without some structure you'll spend half your trip just deciding where to go next. I did extensive research and planning before my own trip, and I've put together a detailed travel series covering 20 to 30 locations across the city specifically for travellers coming from India.

The Neighbourhoods I Cover

New York isn't one place — it's dozens of very different neighbourhoods, each with its own personality. Across the series I cover Uptown, Midtown, Lower Manhattan, Downtown, Chinatown, SoHo, the West Village, Greenwich Village, Brooklyn, and Central Park. That's essentially the full stretch of the city that a first-time visitor would want to explore.

What the Series Covers for Each Area

For every area I include practical information on the main places to visit, how to get around, what things cost, and where to eat. If you're planning to come to New York from India, having that price and food context makes a real difference — you'll know what to budget and won't be caught off guard by how quickly expenses add up in the city.
