A note from Shachi

Your company is sending you to run the U.S. office. The petition is approved. Why would the officer question it?
Because the L-1A category is one of the most scrutinised in the system, and officers know it. A title of Manager on paper means nothing if you cannot name your direct reports, explain your budget authority, or describe a single strategic decision you have made. I have coached applicants with genuinely strong managerial roles who still stumbled because they had never been asked to articulate it out loud.
I built my STAMP Method around the five things every officer evaluates: your Story, your Ties, your Answers, your Money, and your Papers. For L-1A managers, the key is making your authority concrete — not impressive-sounding, but specific and verifiable.
If you want to walk in with a clear, confident narrative rather than rehearsed corporate language, let's talk.

Sound familiar?
My company filed the petition, the attorney handled everything
At the window there is no lawyer. Just you and an officer who has seen dozens of nominal managers this month. You need to answer, not reference the paperwork.
I manage projects, not really people
L-1A requires managing people or functions with real authority. If you manage deliverables but not headcount or budget, the officer will probe until the distinction becomes clear — and uncomfortable.
The U.S. office is new and small
Officers scrutinise new or small offices heavily. You need to explain the business plan, the revenue model, and why a manager is needed now — not when the office grows.
Common pitfalls
I manage a team is not an answer. Officers ask for names, titles, and reporting structures. Vague answers signal you do not actually manage anyone.
If every decision goes through someone above you, that is not management. Officers know the difference between approving decisions and making them.
If you say you work for the Indian branch going to the US branch without explaining how the two entities are legally related, it looks suspicious.
My approach
Why this transfer and why you? Officers need a clear narrative: what the U.S. office is doing, why it needs your management, and how your role connects to the broader company strategy. We build this together.
What brings you back if the assignment ends? Even for intracompany transfers, officers check immigrant intent. We identify your strongest ties — family, property, career in India — so the officer sees no reason to question your return.
Can you explain your authority in 15 seconds? Officers decide fast. We structure answers about headcount, budget, and strategic decisions — practised in mock interviews until they feel natural, not rehearsed.

|---|---|---|---|
| STORY - Why this transfer? | Generic transfer explanation | Filed the petition, you explain it | Clear narrative: company relationship, transfer purpose, and why you specifically |
| TIES - What brings you back? | Not addressed | Not their focus | Concrete ties: family, property, career trajectory in India |
| ANSWERS - Authority in 15 seconds? | Corporate jargon that sounds evasive | Just answer honestly | 15-second answers on headcount, budget, and decisions — practised until natural |
| MONEY - Salary and office viability | No awareness of what officers check | Covered in the petition | Salary, U.S. office revenue, and headcount cross-checked for consistency |

Ideally 4-6 weeks before your interview. That gives enough time for document review, answer building, and multiple mock interviews. If you're late, don't worry. Our Core package works as a 3-day crash course.
No one can guarantee approval. The final decision rests with the consular officer. What we guarantee: you walk into your interview fully prepared, with clear answers, strong documentation, and real confidence. We've coached 2,500+ applicants one-on-one, and we are always transparent that no one can promise a specific outcome.
You'll experience a realistic simulation of a U.S. visa interview. I play the role of the consular officer using real questions specific to your visa type and profile. After the mock, you receive the recording so you can review your performance and refine your answers before the real thing.
Almost certainly. Over the years, I've worked with applicants across every visa category and situation — prior refusals, complex employment histories, complicated finances, applications from high-scrutiny consulates, dependent visas, and more. If you're unsure whether your situation is something I can help with, just message us on WhatsApp. I'm happy to discuss before you commit to anything.
All sessions are online via Google Meet or Zoom, so you can prepare from anywhere in India or the world. We also record each mock interview for your own self-review, which you can't get in-person at the embassy.
We accept UPI, bank transfer, Razorpay (for INR payments), and Stripe (for USD payments). All prices are listed in both USD and INR. Payment is collected after an initial consultation to ensure the service is right for you.
I cannot explain the company relationship simply
Parent, subsidiary, affiliate — officers want this explained in one sentence. Corporate org-chart language does not land at the window.
My role changed since the petition was filed
A title change, a team restructuring, or a shift in scope since filing can contradict your petition. Officers notice gaps between what was filed and what you say.
Mentioning your own technical work — writing code, running analyses, producing deliverables — undermines the manager narrative. The officer is looking for supervision, not execution.
Your team size, your salary, your reporting structure — if your answers do not match the petition, the officer notices immediately.
Does the salary match a genuine managerial role? Officers check whether the compensation is consistent with management-level work and whether the U.S. office can sustain this position. We make sure the numbers tell a coherent story.
Offer letter, org chart, corporate relationship docs, financial statements — they must all tell the same story as your verbal answers. We review every document for inconsistencies that trigger 221(g) processing.
